I modded it and I renamed it....its not your map....as u can see its different......i thought it was a better sniper map as i made it.....and so I renamed it....

This is a daviddu63's map.
Bill made his remix but many objects on that map belong to the well-known DM-BBQ map (daviddu63's map uses the same "jdBbq.u" file)
daviddu63 really did a good work but honestly I prefer Bill's version/remix ! I'm a CoN so I prefer nightly maps ;picklke

yes its my work ,and yes i have use "jdBbq.u" file get in DM-BBQ (downloadable into a lot of website maping) , its a good deco pack  but is not a dm-BBQ original map , no original map , i have build all and put just .u deco files .
And buffalo you are removed just a light and renamed my original map , not cool without permission ... if u want a special version say me , i modded new version and write DaV tag but not u (its easy to removed 5 light and renamed (5minutes ...) )
I have two differente night version if u want Mr P. but i look con admin have removed my map into your server ...

This map was never added on this server. I am waiting for all this to be resolved and plan on not getting in it unless I have to. |

Daviddu63, I hate to break the news to you but you don't have any legal right to anything Unreal not even your own creations. Epic still owns the engine and all rights to it. They 'let' us do what we will with it. So you blowing a fit over someone doing anything to your stuff without your permission is funny considering nobody needs your permission to begin with. You have no grounds to scream at mediafire or anyone else for them stealing your work because you don't own it. Besides, take it as a compliment because there are many maps around that just aren't even good enough to remix anyways.
I have had plenty of my stuff used without my permission and I'm fine with that because I understand it doesn't matter anyway. The thing that bugs me is that some coders won't give credit where credit is due when they take something and change it. I at least like to see an authors name in the credits when it's re-done as I'm sure S9 does too.

I rent a Name of author , and a copyright , all of my files are protected by creative commons (copyright and right on all files) . but a lot of maudit man remake juste one object into a map and change tag , and write create by .... and im not ok with this ... its too easy ... I have contact a French court against the "King" team because he is remake two textures in a maps from me without my permission and writing created by king .. I have win in courthouse... Copyright i thank you ..

Well Daviddu63 this is not the first time you have asked me to delete your account. I will not delete your account as I started before.
I'm not sure what you think you accomplished by removing the pictures in the first post? We appreciate your offer of the original map and still have the files. -=CoN=-Strych9 makes the final decision if a map is to be added to our server, so I guess we'll see what he decides.
And I see no reason to delete this thread.

yes i have removed map But :
- you have say : This map was never added on this server. I am waiting for all this to be resolved and plan on not getting in it unless I have to.
- and mr p have say map is good in night version ... (i have two version , night and sun )
- and i have look you have removed 3 maps of me on your server (map saloon con version too)
consequently : i think you dont want add map

Hi daviddu63,
some days ago I've only expressed my personal opinion about your map and its "nightly" remix made by Bill: whatever my opinion may be, only admins can decide to add or not your map to the server so I have no role in this discussion.
About the work Bill did on your map, I can only say you it's a simple remix: he (and also anyone here) didn't want to "steal" your work and publish it elsewhere with another tag. It was made only and simply for fun. I only think Bill should add the term "[Bill]remix" or something alike after the original name of your map to make clear his work on your map. Nothing more.
There are millions of maps and millions of map remixes out there (the UT universe works in this way !) and personally I always thank all the people who still work to bring fun to the UT community. Truly, I've appreciated the fact you posted your good map here.

yes i know your opinion for night remix , but no i dont want one remix of my work by other ! if you want remix night , i have , but i dont want other people remix my work , its very long to create a map completly (for this map : 60 day) and add other "tag" after a small change on map its very easy and i dont accepte by others people ( for this reason i have rent a copyright)
but on request of a person , im ok for all change on my work but by me not by other ..

That doesn't apply here. Now if you yourself had copyrighted say the Music or a custom texture used in that map then you have a case but for you to claim a copyright on something you don't even own is useless. Read your UT99 EULA. It tells you what is yours and what isn't. If you truly wanted it to be yours, I think the unlimited license runs like $100,000 or more.
Now, if you are so hell-bent on keeping the work you've done for yourself, there are 2 things you can do:
1. Keep it to yourself. I imagine that this is not an option for you just like it is not an option for anyone else that has spent that much time on making a map.
2. Sabotage the map so that it can't be re-built. After the Final build, select all brushes then hit delete and then save the map. The map is still playable but totally uneditable to the average person. It doesn't protect the textures, sounds, music, or models but the map itself can't have a single item changed, rebuilt, and then rename thus ending problems like this.
Don't ever be discouraged by anyone because they borrow your work. The fact that you still spend the time making maps is very much appreciated. I would have used this map for my clans server but the truth is that large camping maps just isn't FUN's style. We like small to medium sized maps that guarantee high-action.
