The event logs show you're being brute force attacked on the RDP port. It's bots using several likely spoofed IPs. If you are administering from mainly one location you could set up the RDP rule in Windows Firewall to only accept requests from the public IP address you are using. If your IP address changes or you wanted to grant access it can be done form the smart server control panel. I mentioned that this attack probably shouldn't be causing the lag. I will do a test by setting up the firewall for my public IP. For a time you will be locked out from RDP over the Internet so that I can determine if the login requests are causing or exacerbating the lag problems.
Thanks for bearing with us. We found the cause of the congested network and even though the switch had to be throttled for a few minutes the traffic should be normal and you should no longer experience the latency from earlier. Please let us know if you see any further problem
